The grey or timber wolf Canis lupus, living in Carpathians, is highly social, measures up to
90 cm/3 ft at the shoulder, and weighs up
to 45 kg/100 lb. It has been greatly
reduced in numbers except for isolated
wilderness regions. Including a
thriving population of 3,000 in the
Carpathian Mountains.
